Great Barrier Reef (Snorkel / Dive)

Full Day or Half Day

Spend a day on the water, either snorkelling, diving, fishing or simply relaxing. The options are plenty. Tour operators offer different options, sailing or motoring out to the Great Barrier Reef. Visit Low Isles or spend the day out in the big blue.

The Daintree Rainforest

Full Day with Tour Operator or Self Drive

The Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation is approx 90mins from Port Douglas. If you go with a tour or drive yourself, there are plenty of sights to see along this stretch of road north.

Things to look out for:

  • Alexandra Lookout (just after Daintree Ferry Crossing)
  • Thornton’s Cafe by the Beach
  • Rainforest and mangrove board walks -  these boardwalks are well indicated with road signs. Well worth the stop!
  • Daintree Discovery Centre (entry fee) - information centre with all the answers to your rainforest questions.
  • Daintree Ice Cream Factory - great ice creamery, you can also wander through the fruit orchard. It is certainly not apples and pears that grow here - wonderful rainforest fruits and nuts.
  • Water Holes - ask the locals
  • Cape Tribulation / PK's Jungle Village - PK's is a Cape Tribulation institution as fas as decent meals and beer go. Walk down to the beach and through to Cape Tribulation Beach.
