Great start to pre-season cricket training

Court House Port Douglas Mud Crabs had a great turn out of new and keen cricketers to training this week with the news they will be playing in C grade this year.

The first game kicks off on the 20 Sept, at the Port Douglas Sporting Complex, so there is not much time to get a bit of run in the legs. Training is on Wednesday at 4.45pm at the ground, but will change to Tuesday and Thursday in coming weeks. Call Josh for info on 4099 4540

Residents rally at public meeting

 

A packed public meeting at the Mossman Shire Hall on Tuesday has overwhelmingly called for perparing divorce papers to break the Douglas region from the new Cairns Regional Council.

800 Douglas Shire residents turned out to give there approval of de-merging Douglas and Cairns Regional Council.
