Port Douglas Carnivale
18 - 27 May
Usually on in the last two week ends of May, Port Douglas comes alive with 'Carnivale' to celebrate the Taste of Tropical Paradise with Food & Wine. Over 5 Major Events come together over the two weekends to create the regions largest audience event. www.carnivale.com.au

Coral Coast Tri, RRR Bike Race & Challenge Cairns
26 May - 3 June
The regions of Cairns and Port Douglas host over two weekends the amazing Coral Coast Tri, RRR and the main event the Challenge Cairns. Touted as Australia's Hawaiian Ironman, the Challenge Cairns involves a gruelling 3.8km swim, 180 km bike ride and 42 km run. more . .
OCTOBER
Sunset in the Park (mini)
Sunday 30 October from 2pm
Footprint Music Festivals (FMF) take this years Sunset in the Park to the Port Douglas Yacht Club. 10 local bands will perform over the course of the afternoon and night. The mini Sunset starts at 2pm and goes late. So bring the kids for the early session. Tickets will be on sale at the door.
NOVEMBER
Great Barrier Reef Marathon Festival
12 November
12 November 2011 marks the regions first Marathon Festival hosted in the spectacular surrounds of Port Douglas. The Festival offer runners more than just a race. With two Gala Festival events planned and the inclusion of the Steve Moneghetti Open Invitational Half Marathon the Great Barrier Reef Marathon Festival is planned to be a once in a lifetime experience every year. www.greatbarrierreefmarathon.com.au
Port Douglas Marlin Challenge

'Formula One Fishing' comes to Port Douglas. Great excitement has been generated around the Queensland fishing and marine community with the announcement that the inaugural Port Douglas Marlin Fishing Challenge has been confirmed.

Solar Eclipse Marathon
14 November 2012
Steve Monaghetti, event ambassador, has marked this event a MUST DO for all adventure marathon competitors. On November 14 in 2012 in Port Douglas, 2,000 competitors will start the race at the re-emergence of the sun from behind the moon, making the Solar Eclipse Marathon the first ever event to have an Intergalactic Starting Gun.
Totality Solar Eclipse Viewing Festival

Tens of thousands are expected to gather to witness a 'once in a lifetime' Total Solar Eclipse. Exclusive accommodation, viewing and gala event packages have been arranged for International and Australian visitors to celebrate the unique phenomenom.
