You have to see this!

In one of the more bizarre stories we've seen this year (granted it is only January), a $1.1 billion cruise ship is being built based on the city of Monaco.

At 155 metres in length, the ship contains replicas of the famous Monte Carlo Casino, Monaco racetrack, and a number of other of the city's landmarks.

The story, reported on news.com.au, has prompted us to ask you one simple question:

If a local boat builder was to construct a massive cruise ship based on the Port Douglas region, what would you like to see on it?

How about a non restrictive entertainment precinct. More vibe, less retirement village. You will become Buderim or Harvey Bay before you know it, maybe you are already. Gary from the Gold Coast !

Well great idea! The thought of having a Sheraton building on the yacht comes to mind however it may be embarrasing coming into ports with a pastel pink & yellow building on the yacht. I suspect the cane furniture would have troubles staying intact in rough swells??
The obvious choice of names is Quicksilver, I know what your thinking...what about HABA? but where not looking at the next atlantas.
We could have parades which go down the only street, Wharf st. BYO torches.
Maybe even coaster buses and rental cars running around at a neck breaking 40km/h... When the sun comes out everyone gathers down at the lagoon in which you can hear the parents instructing their children not to drink the water as it contains floride..... How would this not work!!...

Happy Dan
