Spring Orchid Show is being hosted at CWA Hall on Front Street in Mossman on Thursday 25th September from 8am to 2pm.  It is FREE Entry with raffle and orchids/plants for sale.

Fractured Country to be screened at The Clink Theatre 25th Sept

The film, 'Fractured Country' will be screened at the Clink Theatre, Port Douglas, on the 25th September, “Meet & Greet” starting at 6.30 pm. This film documents the somewhat confronting experiences of those who’ve been affected first hand by csg mining (fracking). Alwyn Lyall, Western Yalanji, chairperson of the Western Yalanji Aboriginal Corporation, will also be speaking, along with Paul Neal. All are warmly invited.

Black Diggers, WWI's untold story at Cairns Civic Theatre Wed 8th October

Queensland Theatre Company, Brisbane Festival in association with QPAC, The Balnaves Foundation and the Cairns Civic Theatre present a very special live simulcast entitled 'The Black Diggers' on Wednesday 8th October 2014.
One hundred years ago, in 1914, a bullet from an assassin's gun in Sarajevo sparked a war that ignited the globe. Patriotic young men all over the world lined up to join the fight - including hundreds of Indigenous Australians.




 

Porttoberfest, Port Douglas, Saturday October 4 (The Long Weekend)
