Bielfield & Glen: Ambrosia '14 at Cairns Civic Theatre

Retro-Pop Musical Duo Bielfield & Glen Performs a Visual Spectacular in an East Coast Tour from Canberra to Cairns. Performing at the Cairns Civic Theatre on Saturday, 30 August.  Juilliard-trained artists Kyle Bielfield and Lachlan Glen are on their way Down Under for their first Australian tour. The singer-pianist duo - Bielfield & Glen - debuted high on the Billboard charts last year with their album Stopping By and, soon after, took the U.S. by storm in an album release tour that received gleaming reviews from music enthusiasts and critics alike throughout Europe, the U.S. and Canada.


The Harbinger at Cairns Civic Theatre

8th Cairns Underwater Film Festival at Cairns Civic Theatre

Being held on 23rd August 2014 The Cairns Underwater Film Festival is a celebration of underwater film making & photography.  The Festival combines a photo competition of underwater films and photographs and showcases films from the Great Barrier Reef and around the world.


Alex Williamson at Cairns Civic Theatre

Alex is back with a hot new show on 22nd Aug 2014. As always, it's irreverent and caustic, featuring music, standup and his own unique "slide show". Alex is the first Aussie to successfully straddle "YouTube Star" and main stream comedy sensation. Already 2014 has seen him sell out shows at Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney Comedy Festivals along with a string of regional venues across Australia.


Seniors' Week Celebrations in Mossman and Douglas

Celebrations kick off with Come & Try Tai Chi and have a cuppa on Monday, August 18, which includes a free hearing test, at the Port Douglas Neighbourhood Centre.

Also on Monday, August 18, is Elders Sharing Their Stories with beading, art and morning tea at the Mossman Community Centre.

Douglas Shire Seniors Inc. is hosting a free luncheon at the Mossman Bowls Club on Tuesday, August 19, and Mossman Library will hold an Introduction to Your Library for seniors on Wednesday, August 20.

Seniors Week activities in the Douglas Shire will culminate with a bus trip to Mt Uncle Distillery on the Tablelands which includes a two-course lunch on Thursday, August 21.

Moonlight Cinema

Moonlight Cinema (a giant outdoor cinema) screens the latest release movies on the lawns of QT Hotel & Resort on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights (and Thursday nights during school holidays). Gates open at 6pm and screenings start at approximately 7:15pm. There is a fully licensed bar and catering at the venue, or feel free bring your own picnic and alcohol. September 2014

Sunset in the Park Music Festival in the amazing Rex Smeal Park. Gates open at 11am with a Father's Day Picnic with all the fun and games including the Carnivale Grand Prix Motorised Eskys. From 3pm the Sunset in the Park Lineup begins. Look out for Dave Cooke, Timber and Wood, the Waywards and Sun Salute. Stay tuned with updates regarding the bands and special events. October 2014

Porttoberfest, Port Douglas, Saturday October 4 (The Long Weekend)

Established in 2007, Port Douglas' spectacular Beer Festival celebrates island like living in Tropical North Queensland. Join in the fun down at The Reef Marina Port Douglas and get dressed up in your best German Beer drinking outfits. Special guests - the Porttoberfest Dancing Girls! There will be plenty of enertainment and the the views are amazing.
