UNICEF benefits from Port's support

Sheraton Mirage

Port Douglas residents have again shown their generosity by uniting to support UNICEF at a function at the Sheraton Mirage last weekend.

Guests put on their finest threads and enjoyed the fine wine, food, and music that greeted them, and dug deep for a worthy cause.

"Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas would like send out a huge thank you to all of our sponsors and guests who contributed to our ‘Unite For Children’ Charity Ball in aid of UNICEF," general manager Lachlan Walker said.

"Not only was it a great night of glamour and fun that was had by all, over $15,000 much needed funds were raised for UNICEF."

Mr Walker thanked Channel 7's Rahni Sadler, as well as locals Gus Gardiner and Corrine Garland for hosting the evening.

Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas will be fundraising again in aid of UNICEF, on Saturday 13 August in Lagoons Restaurant with a dinner.
