The circus comes to Port Douglas

: Lennon Bros Circus setting up for their first show on Thursday 22nd April

Lennon Bros Circus is the oldest touring circus in Australia. It was started 155 years ago as a 'Buckjump' Show and has evolved into the sophisticated circus presentation seen today.

The circus is currently run by the fifth generation brothers Geoff and Warren with fifth and now sixth generations of the family represented in the shows. Lennon Bros Circus is one of only two circuses in Australia with Big Cats in their shows. The three lions featured are four years old and they were born and bred in the circus, in fact they are twelfth generation born in Australia.

Other animals in the show include Liberty horses, monkeys, camels, llamas, geese and dogs and lets not forget that they also employ 30 people ranging from 3yrs old to 65yrs old. And they still have traditional clowns and even those glorious men and women of the flying trapeze. if traditional circus is your thing then it doesn't get much better than this.

The box office is alongside Reynolds Park in Davidson Street.
Shows are on Thursday 22nd April starting at 7:00pm, Friday 23rd April starting at.7:00pm, two shows on Saturday 24th April starting at 4:00pm & 7:00pm. Last show on Sunday 25th April at 2:00pm.

let the animals work for there food. we are a superior species an if we can tame them then so be it. if we want them to jump through a ring of fire or stand on there hind legs for a piece of food then good. we are the top of the food chain for a reason.

Hold the fort everyone! Do you think Hartleys crocodile feeding displays and all those animals locked up in the Rainforest Habitat is any different? I hate circus's too but I bet you say stuff all about those.

I have lived in Port Douglas my whole life and the only form of fun and entertainment that comes to port for the kids is the CIRCUS.... Stop wasting the council's time on stupid pathetic crap and make them focus on stuff that's a little more important like our roads and so on!!!!! What circus is out there that anybody wants to go to without animals cuz the whole point of a circus is the ANIMALS

I protest. If you pay to see it you support it, if you don't go you are making the right statement. We have so much more in port to promote, surely the restaurants deserve the money that's now being spent on a ridiculous form of entertainment.
