Journalist
Kerry Larsen started as a cadet journalist at the age of 18 with the Community Newspaper Group in Perth, before writing for the Westside Football AFL newspaper in Perth, and the Mandurah Mail newspaper in regional WA.
She also started a radio career in community radio at the same age, moving onto being news director in commercial radio, at Mandurah, south of Perth, at the age of 21.
Since moving to Port Douglas in 2000, Kerry has studied a Diploma of Natural Medicine and sports medicine, traveled and taught English in China, and worked in various roles for seven years at Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas. She has been the female voice behind PortFM’s Saturday Morning Sports Show since 2006, and returned to print media in 2010 with the now-defunct FNQ Independent, before joining The Newsport team in 2011.
