UPDATE: The mini-famil includes an all expenses paid guided walk of the Bump Track with The Newsport editor Roy Weavers, cricket lessons by local gun Josh McConnell, and an intimate dinner for two with tourismportdouglas.com.au MD Sam Cullen.

Unfortunately with the prizes on offer there are no winners.

: The Newsport editor, Roy Weavers, accepts the award for Best Online News Service.

The Newsport has taken out the prestigious Goggle award for Best Online Daily News Service at Newsport Publishings annual award ceremony this morning.

The Newsport editor Roy Weavers said the award recognised the efforts of his team, and the constant constructive criticism of readers.

"We work very hard to deliver news on a daily basis, and provide an interactive website for our readers. The Goggle award is the pinnacle of achievement in terms of recognition from Newsport Publishing."

As part of the awards ceremony, three readers of The Newsport have been randomly chosen as winners of an all expenses paid 'mini-famil'.

I really enjoy your weekly E mail.I always take advantage of special discount offers u present, this has meant 6 trips with friend to port douglas and six days off.
this is contary to other comment in your online news
no doubt port douglas is second best place up here.

Am I right in thinking these awards are a little like the American Football World Championships where only US clubs can enter. So are only companies called Newsport Online allowed to enter these prestigious awards?
