The Tourism Port Douglas and Daintree Christmas Party was held at the Rydges Sabaya Resort in Port Douglas on Tuesday evening Dec 15 to mark the start of the festive season around the Douglas Region.

Over 100 members and guests came along to the party to catch up with friends and contacts from the tourism industry.

Bill Calderwood, the new Head of TTNQ delivered a message of praise for the efforts already being put in and determination that the job will continue to be done to ensure 2010 is a better year than 2009.

New TPDD Chair person Wendy Morris welcomed the gathering and reiterated the determination of the new board to consolidate and progress the work needed to keep Port Douglas and  the Daintree foremost in potential traveller and holidaymakers minds from both the domestic and international markets.

And as the members continued to chat and enjoy the finger buffet and bar superbly presented by the resort staff, so the well-oiled tourism machine networked it's way through the evening to establish and consolidate the tight knit tourism industry community that we enjoy in the Douglas Region.
