Rendezvous home away from home

: A cheap locals offer is being made available for those in the area who have been affected by Cyclone Yasi.

Although Cyclone Yasi's influence was felt further south, some homes in the region remain without power while others continue the clean up after a number of trees were fallen.

Rendezvous Reef Resort has extended an offer to locals which may take a load off people's minds until things return back to normal, with reduced rates for two bedroom villas.

"We've got some local specials in place," said Rendezvous general manager, Scott Wilkinson. "We just want people to be comfortable should they need it.

The offer includes:

7 nights accommodation at $69 per night
4 nights accommodation at $79 per night
2 nights accommodation at $99 per night
1 night accommodation at $129

"We're operating as normal. We've sustained some vegetation damage but most of that has been cleared now," Mr Wilkinson said.
