A Shannonvale man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after blowing 0.132 on New Year's Day. He was stopped on Port Douglas Road and will appear in Mossman Magistrates Court on 11 January.

Nine people were charged with disorderly conduct over the New Year period with offences ranging from fighting to public urination.

Two counts of stealing were recorded on New Year's Eve with a handbag being taken and also 12 trolleys from Coles Supermarket.
