More thrills for Reef Sprinter

Steve and Cathy can't wait for their new custom built sprinter to arrive from Perth.

Hold on to your hats, a custom built jet boat is just days away from arriving in Port Douglas, the newest addition to the Reef Sprinter fleet.

Reef Sprinter's Steve and Cathy Sherwell can't wait for their one of a kind custom built boat to arrive after 12 months in the making.

"There's nothing like it anywhere else," Mr Sherwell said. "It's custom built from the water up, it's got a unique hull design, and two, 500 horse power motors."

The boat will carry 14 passenger, all of whom will be strapped in tight for their safety.

"Being a jet boat it can do 360 degree spins. It's a much more exciting ride, it's crazy!" he said.

The $500,000 craft has just come back from sea trials in Perth and will be in Port in about a week, with plans to unleash it to the public at Christmas.

"We're still going to be running the existing Reef Sprinter, and with the new boat we'll be heading out four times a day," Mr Sherwell said.

Have your say !
