Moonlight's second season launched

Moonlight Cinema Port Douglas

Moonlight’s new season began last night with the what has been described by one movie fan as "the best sequel ever made" - The Hangover 3.

That's quite a call when you take into account other classics such as Back To The Future 2, The Empire Strikes Back, and Sex and the....never mind that last one.

But with just five weeks to run until Moonlight Cinema packs up its screen and bean beds, Port Douglas residents and visitors should be making the most of the movies on offer to make it a dead set certainty they'll return again next year.

So what’s showing outdoors this weekend?

Tonight: Glee: The 3D Concert Movie
Tomorrow night: Green Lantern 3D
Sunday night: Cars 2 3D

Gates open at 6.30pm with screenings around 7.30pm.

Tickets are priced from $12 for children and $16 for adults but there is a wide range of ticket options available and food, beverage and movie packages. Tickets are available online at moonlight.com.au and at the gate.

Moonlight Bean Beds (a must have) are available for hire at the cinema for $6 (with a $10 refundable deposit) and blankets can be purchased for $15.

For premium seating and viewing, Gold Grass tickets provide the ultimate outdoor experience at $28.
