The Whitelion Jungle Ride is here at last with 130 participants gearing up for an epic ride from Port Douglas to Cape Tribulation tomorrow. And for some that's just the half way mark of a 180km round trip.

Organiser of the event, Lesley Stephens, said there'll be some inspirational individuals among tomorrow's group.

"We've got an eight and two eleven year-olds taking part, and also a blind rider who will be on a tandem bike."

Whitelion co-founder and AFL premiership player, Glenn Manton, is in Port Douglas with his family to take part in the event, but will be calling it quits at the 90km mark at Cape Tribulation citing hamstring tendonitis.

Lesley hopes to raise over $11,000 for Whitelion which helps create opportunities for young people involved in the Youth Justice System or at risk of involvement.

Mr Manton founded the organisation 12 years ago, and praised Lesley for her continued commitment to helping those in need.

"Lesley is without doubt up there at the pointy end in terms of people who are prepared to get involved and get their hands dirty and do alot of hard work," he said.

The ride departs at 6am from the Port Douglas Surf Club with groups departing at 5 minute intervals.

The registration fee is $85 which includes a commemorative t-shirt.
