Lee Kernaghan brings Planet Country to Kuranda

Tickets are now on sale for Lee Kernaghan’s highly anticipated ‘Planet Country Australian Tour’ in 2010.  Lee’s Planet Country Australian Tour opens in Tasmania in February 2010 and will feature special guests Tania Kernaghan, new country music sensation Jasmine Rae and rising star Markus Meier.

Kernaghan is renowned for delivering quality, high-energy live shows. His legions of fans have been known to travel for days to experience Lee Kernaghan live in concert – it’s always a party, it always rocks and it always celebrates the spirit of being an Australian through Lee’s songs.

The 2010 ‘Planet Country Australian Tour’ is designed to give as many people as possible the opportunity to see one our great showmen in full flight. 

Lee will be performing all of the classic songs that won him the title of ‘Hit Maker of the Decade’ back in 2000, and he will also play all the hits from his more recent albums ‘Electric Rodeo’, ‘The New Bush’ and ‘Spirit of the Bush’.

But 2010 is all about ‘Planet Country’ – Lee’s new album that burst onto the ARIA country charts at #1 upon release in October 2009.  ‘Planet Country’ is Kernaghan’s first career album release since 'The New Bush' release in 2006.

Two years in the making, Lee has delivered an album that is contemporary and totally tapped in to the pulse of Australian culture and way of life.  He has taken the Australian Spirit and set it to music.

‘Planet Country’ may very well be his finest album to date. Recorded in Sydney and Nashville with what Lee describes as "some of the best musicians in the world," ‘Planet Country’ reveals enormous depth, masterful songwriting and maturity in Kernaghan that can only have come from experience.  Standout singles include ‘Planet Country’, ‘People like Us’, the majestic ‘Love in the time of Drought’, ‘Dirt’, ‘Australian Boy’, ‘Gold’ and ‘Scars’ the southern rock inspired duet featuring U.S. country superstar Dierks Bentley.
