James wins Volunteer of the Year

Port Douglas resident, James Watson, has been named Volunteer of the Year in the Cairns region at an awards presentation yesterday.


Mr Watson's tireless efforts are well known to locals and his list of contributions to our community are many:

  • Past Treasurer and President of the Port Douglas Neighbourhood Centre
  • Community Veggie Garden carer
  • Senior Scoop reporter and Treasurer of Douglas Shire Seniors Incorporated
  • Member of Toastmasters, Port Douglas Rotary and Tangaroa Blue Ocean Care Society
  • Founder of the Port Douglas Parkinsons Support Group
  • Creator of the stunning Nautilus Street landscape
