Green waste collection update

The Port Douglas streets are on the hit list this week as the clean up continues.

Cairns Regional Council crews continue the Cyclone Yasi clean-up collecting green waste from kerbsides throughout the region.

This week, crews will focus on the following areas:

Far North: Port Douglas, Mossman, Newell Beach.

North: Palm Cove, Clifton Beach, Trinity Park, Trinity Beach, Yorkeys Knob, Redlynch Valley, Redlynch, Smithfield, Kewarra Beach, Machans Beach, Holloways Beach.

Residents are asked to leave green waste only out on the footpath, parallel to the kerb. Ensure that the vegetation is stacked away from power boxes and other service infrastructure.

Waste cannot be left on easements or other areas where crews will not have access - it must be on street frontage.

Council crews also continue to pick up green waste from the region's roadways, parks and drains.
