Final Reminder to view Cow Bay Reserve Land Management Plan

Don't forget that if you want to see the Cairns Regional Council Land Management Plan for the proposed Cow Bay Reserve for Cultural, Environmental and Recreation purposes which is to be established at the end of Buchanan Creek Road, Cow Bay, you've only got until December 28th BUT you must also take into consideration that the two viewing centres will be closed over Christmas which shortens the duration of viewing considerably.

The Plan has been available for viewing since Monday 30 November 2009 through to 28 December 2009 here (PDF) or at one of the following Council facilities:

The proposed Cow Bay Reserve is one of a number of land dealings arising from the Eastern Kuku Yalanji, State of Queensland and Douglas Shire

Council ILUA (QI2006/011) which was registered by the National Native Title Tribunal on 19 October 2007.

The proposed Cow Bay Reserve will not be dedicated until such time as the Land Management Plan is approved by the Minister under the Land Act 1994.

Council is seeking comments from the public on the Cow Bay Reserve Land Management Plan prior to seeking approval of the Land Management Plan
from the Minister.

It is now too late to post any comments so please email your comments to the Chief Executive Officer, marked “Cow Bay Reserve, Land Management
Plan” to either PO Box 359, CAIRNS Q 4870 or feedback@cairns.qld.gov.au by no later than 12 noon on Monday 28 December 2009.
