Festive or flop?

With the tide of Christmas and New Year tourists receding, we thought we'd ask for your feedback on how Port Douglas presented itself in the festive season.

Many residents went to great lengths and expense to bring some Christmas cheer to their neighbourhood with brilliant light and decorative displays.

In the town centre, Cairns Regional Council installed laser lights in ANZAC park which have been described as "more like mood lighting" by one local businessman.

And thanks to the fundraising efforts of the Port Douglas Chamber of Commerce, the early family fireworks on New Years' Eve drew a strong and enthusiastic crowd.

There has been much said about what needs to be done to make Port more aesthetically pleasing. So do you think we did enough to entice people back to Port Douglas this December?

What were your highlights? What needs to improve? Send us your festive social photos to editor@thenewsport.com.au, have your say and take part in our poll (left).
