Combined kitchen still cooking

Open for business. A local favourite has a new manager in Barry Hoskin (right).

President of the popular Combined Clubs, Jenny Hill, has dispelled rumours that the popular Tin Shed kitchen is to be closed.

"The kitchen is currently being restructured due to our financial and seasonal limitations which will then be temporarily catered out for a period of roughly two weeks, until such time as we have new plans put in place with our new Manager starting today (Thursday), to revamp the kitchen and give it a totally new focus," Ms Hill said.

"We've had to make these major changes as a result of a massive loan that was invested into the club. last year. I think it's a quiet time for everyone in Port Douglas and really it's a very good time to restructure now rather than wait for the peak season."

Ms Hill assured patrons that meals will still be available over the next two weeks in the venue that is one of the most popular eateries for local residents.

The new Combined Club manager, Barry Hoskin, commenced his new role last Thursday.
