Coffee gets charities buzzing

The Coffee Club's Michael Kerr.

Your morning coffee can boost more than your energy levels with a promotion at a Port Douglas coffee shop providing donations to a number of worthy charities.

Since April, the Coffee Club Port Douglas has been raising money for charity groups from the Port Douglas region.

"Each month we will have their donation tins on our counter and will allow the organisation to theme our store to help them promote the great work they do," said the Coffee Club's Michael Kerr.

"On the middle Wednesday of the month we will also donate 50 cents from every hot drink sold to that charity," he said.

April's recipient was the Port Douglas Life Saving Club while during may the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard will be the beneficiary as they attempt to raise money for much needed equipment including pumps, hoses, and a generator.

"We have some other charities lined up but are still looking to fill a couple of spaces," Mr Kerr said.

He urged any charity groups who are interested in the Coffee Club promotion to contact him 4099 5409.
